  At E.G. Penner Building Centres Ltd., a COR certified supplier, we strive to be the premier building, home improvement and design centre in Southeastern Manitoba.

  As a leading provider in products, service and installations for commercial and residential customers, we are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. The shift is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays required.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabricating sheet metal parts using cutting, bending, welding and related sheet metal fabrication equipment
  • Operating machinery such as brake, shear, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers to fabricate metal parts
  • Insulating duct, as required
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

  Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience, as a Metal Fabricator or similar role, is required. A proven record of providing quality workmanship with attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of metalworking processes
  • Familiarity with building and assembling metal structures according to specifications
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and follow them accurately
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to use brake, shear, plasma cutters, and machining equipment effectively
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable and must be physically capable to perform duties as required
  • Be a team player with strong time management skills and have the ability to maintain excellent customer relationships.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to take custom orders

  We are seeking reliable and motivated Material Handlers to join our warehouse team.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting customers and picking products for their orders in a timely efficient manner.
  • Ensuring the accurate and seamless reception and processing of incoming shipments.
  • Loading and unloading shipments.
  • Using any necessary equipment, such as motorized lift equipment, in a safe manner, and abiding by safety procedures and PPE requirements.

  Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous material handling or warehouse experience is a definite asset, but training will be provided.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and knowledge of lumber & building materials is a definite asset.
  • Physically fit with the ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
  • Attention to detail, strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to customers and work well in a team environment.

  We are looking for a dedicated Hardware Service Desk Sales Associate to join our team.

  Key Responsibilities:
  The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service expertise when assisting our residential customers and contract clients; providing specialized product advice and recommendations. Job requirements may include, but are not limited to, assisting customers, processing transactions and account charges, increasing department sales, stocking of merchandise and computer use. Some heavy lifting is required.

  Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous sales experience is required.
  • Knowledge of related materials and the construction industry is a definite asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, strong time management and organizational skills
  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to customers and work well in a team environment
