Contractor Sales Consultant (Lumber & Building Materials)
At E.G. Penner Building Centres Ltd., a COR Certified supplier, we strive to be the premier building, home improvement and design centre in Southeastern Manitoba.
We are looking for a driven, relationship-focused Contractor Sales Consultant to support and grow our professional contractor and builder accounts. In this role, you will work closely with contractors to quote projects, recommend materials and ensure smooth execution form order to delivery. The successful applicant is expected to meet and exceed personal sales objectives and develop a network of contacts through which prospective customers are obtained, leading to future sales.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate sales through personal contact with walk-in and telephone customers, repeat customers and sales leads.
• Qualify new business prospects and build an active, high potential prospect list.
• Maintain a high level of service to existing customers; managing the customer relationship from contract execution through delivery to after sales service; and soliciting referrals from these customers, where possible.
• Resolve customer questions related to pricing, product availability and deliveries.
• Achieve quarterly sales quotas and the objectives of employment.
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Ensure accuracy in all transactions, inventory, and procedures.
• Stay current on lumber products, grades, pricing and market trends.
• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven sales and customer service experience is required.
• Experience in lumber, building materials and the construction industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of lumber products and construction terminology.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic take-offs is a definite asset.
• Attention to detail, strong time management and organizational skills.
• Provide professional and courteous assistance to customers and work well in a team environment.
